Built in 1932, the Broadway Theatre is a magnificent Grade II listed building, with an art deco interior that remains beautifully preserved. It houses two auditoria, the grand 800 seat main house and an intimate studio Theatre seating 90. The main Theatre plays an important role as a diversely programmed community venue, featuring everything from pantomime and star-name shows through to dancing displays and school productions. During thje past 25 years some of the great names to have graced the Broadway Theatre stage include Roy Orbison, Tommy Cooper, Morecambe and Wise, Eddie Izzard, Bill Bailey, Sarah Vaughan, Peggy Lee and Roberta Flack.

The Studio Theatre has been presenting fringe productions for the past ten years. THE BROADWAY STUDIO'S ARTISTIC POLICY IS TO ENCOURAGE YOUNG AND NEW PRODUCERS, DIRECTORS and MUSICAL DIRECTORS in the production of PROFESSIONAL COMMERCIAL REVIVALS. THE STUDIO STAGES UP TO SEVEN SUCH PRODUCTIONS ANNUALLY, EACH RUNNING FOR AT LEAST FOUR WEEKS. Recent productions have included The Diary of Anne Frank, Mack and Mabel, Bent, Macbeth, Carousel, Of Mice and Men, and The Full Monty.
