Cable Street

Cable Street is a new British musical about disparate communities, whose lives are changed forever by the events of 4th October 1936, when half a million Jews, Irish workers and communists united to blockade the East End against a march by Oswald Mosley’s British Union of Fascists.

It is a musical using a contemporary score to tell an historical tale of national significance.  It demonstrates how racial intolerance can be defeated by community action, a message which is as powerful today as ever.
