Founded in 1995 Colour House Theatre is now one of the most respected fringe theatre's in South West London.

Located in the picturesque Merton Abbey Mills and a short walk from Colliers Wood Tube Station, Colour House is perhaps best known for its weekend Children's Theatre with shows every Saturday and Sunday at 2pm and 4pm. Adapted from classic stories such as Cinderella, Robin Hood, Jungle Book and Wizard of Oz the hour long performances entertain audiences from age 3-103!

Over twenty years ago Fleetwood Mac's original bassist Bob Brunning begun a weekly blues club at Colour House, which is still going strong today, currently run by respected blues musician Robin BiBi.

With many other music nights throughout the year, a Comedy Club, Chamber Concert and regular evening theatre, Colour House is a must see attraction in South West London.

History

Situated in the picturesque Merton Abbey Mills, Colour House is an intimate 70 seat studio theatre.
Colour House opened as a theatre in the summer of 1995, It stands in the heart of the delightful riverside setting of Merton Abbey Mills and is a grade II listed building. The building has a history of over 500 years which included being used for the colouring of fabrics for the Arthur Liberty works that were here in the early 1900's.

Today the venue is open for a wonderful variety of theatre shows, events, music gigs and comedy. Since opening it's become very established for its Children's Theatre which gained charitable status in 2008 and has now produced and staged over 100 original musical adaptions of famous fairy tales entertaining over 150,000 kids along the way!

For over 20 years it has run a weekly Blues Club and has regular monthly Chamber Concerts and Comedy gigs, this mixed up with touring shows, exhibitions and events makes it for a busy and vibrant place to be.
