Poplar Union is a multidisciplinary arts & community venue in East London, situated between the Limehouse Cut Canal and Bartlett Park.
Since opening our doors in 2017, we have been committed to providing a communal, social and creative space accessible to all. Our goal is to create a real destination for the community through our diverse programme of events, spanning theatre, comedy, spoken word, music, dance, health and wellbeing, and family activities.
Poplar Union has two main event spaces named after local community heroes; Betty, our studio and performance space, and Mike, our meeting room. Betty is equipped with a sprung maple floor, state-of-the-art AV system, black stage curtains, and floor to ceiling glass doors, offering a view of the park and maximising natural light in the space.
Although only open for 2 years, we have already begun to make our mark as a cultural destination for Poplar.

Since September 2017, e5 Roasthouse has run the onsite cafe and coffee roastery, and is open every day (9am-5pm), serving food and drink. They also open on Friday evenings serving stone-baked pizza to accompany our programmed shows.
