History

Housed in a beautifully converted Grade II Listed Edwardian church in the heart of the Highgate community, Jacksons Lane has provided a diverse programme of theatre, classes and courses to a wide range of people from the immediate local community and beyond since 1975.

Jacksons Lane started with a group of local residents who wanted to provide holiday activities for their children. Over the years it has grown and developed into an established and thriving arts venue that serves North London's diverse communities through participation in the arts.

Jacksons Lane has been a massive success story, not just for the local community but for the whole of North London and continues to go from strength to strength. Unique in its versatility, it is not simply a theatre, but also offers a host of arts based courses, classes and activities for the local and regional community.

Getting to the Venue

Jacksons Lane is conveniently located directly opposite Highgate tube station, which is on the High Barnet branch of the Northern Line. Our nearest step-free stations are Finchley Central (Northern Line) and Upper Holloway (Overground)

Jacksons Lane is served by a range of different bus routes which provide connections across London. The 43, 134 and 234 buses all stop directly outside the venue, and the N20 and N134 are the two night services from this stop.

Jacksons Lane does not have its own car park and as parking locally is limited we generally recommend using public transport where possible. There is one blue-badge parking bay on Jackson’s Lane. This is a public bay and cannot be reserved. Please note that this bay does not have a dropped curb. The next closest blue-badge parking bay is at Highgate station opposite.
