Description
The Space is an arts and community centre on the Isle of Dogs with a programme that includes theatre, music, comedy and dance. Run by St Paul's Arts Trust, the Space hosts local performers alongside big names such as Sir Ian Mckellen and Harry Hill. The Space has a commitment to access to the arts for all and supports new writing and developing performers across many art forms.
History
The Space is a converted chapel built in 1859 in conjunction with a local Presbyterian mission. It has been running as a venue for 11years and has gradually built up their program and activity to become a well respected venue both in the local community and greater London and is forever expanding their activities.
